Introduction to Industrial Co-operation

In this section you will find:
  • a power point presentation from our most active industrial partner
  • two power point presentations on the language audit for industry which was adapted in English for LENTEC
  • the language audit instruments in French and German
  • the language audit instruments (extended0 in English
  • the language audit training and instruments in Dutch

One of the aims of LENTEC was to involve industry in the project, especially in the design of PBL cases. Although all partners had acknowledgements from business and industry that they supported the aims of LENTEC and would like to be partially involved, few companies made the effort to be actively involved and only the French partner school managed to use these contacts optimally. In fact a representative of the firm Sycamore http://www.eads-telecom.com attended nearly all 'face to face' meetings and helped design several cases. In the second year of the project a further plan of action was proposed in the form of a Language Audit and direct written contact by students. Even so getting business and industry to remain actively involved remains a problem
The Language audit in its original Dutch form, was tried and tested in industry in the Netherlands. The tasks which you will find described in the audit instruments are correlated to the Common European Framework of Reference for modern languages.

Tips
  • Suggest tasks which companies can do during the project (such as the Language Audit)
  • To interest business partners more it would be advisable to use the audit at the beginning of a project.
  • Let students visit or contact companies during the project to gain their advise on PBL cases.
  • Regularly inform companies about the project progress.
